I like baked potatoes; but, truth be told, the part I like best is the crusty skin. A friend of mine suggested a way to make more of the potato crusty. It’s fast, fun, and delicious.

Ingredients for one serving (multiply by number of people)

  • 1 large baking potato
  • 1 tsp Butter Buds®
  • ¼ tsp garlic salt
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • Sprinkle of pepper
  • Spray olive oil

Preparation

Wash potato well (leave peeling on).

Place potato on its side and carefully make ¼-inch slices, cutting them almost all the way through.

Transfer potato carefully to a lightly greased cookie sheet (I use a large pancake turner).

Spray potato with olive oil.

Mix Butter Buds®, garlic salt, sea salt, and pepper together in a small dish. Pinch small amounts and sprinkle across the slices until all seasoning has been used.

NOTE:  You may add ¼ tsp of any other seasoning to obtain flavor variety such as cumin, chili powder, or curry powder. Experiment with tastes you enjoy.

Bake uncovered in an oven preheated to 425 degrees F. for 40 minutes.

Remove from oven when brown and crispy.

Serve

Place baked potato on a serving plate and enjoy as a side dish.
