Q. What is brain function to you?

A. Brain function is where everything in my life begins. Period. Long before science had brain imaging to reveal what is going on in the brain while it is functioning, some individuals recognized this. Thomas Edison, for example, thought that the brain was so completely important that the body’s chief function was to carry the brain around. That pretty well sums it up. If the brain is not working properly, the body’s carrying it around will probably help no one and can precipitate many disasters. Conversely, if the body cannot move, the brain is relatively stuck to be transported from place to place—at least by the body. It is now believed that what goes into your brain affects its function, impairing it or improving it. What goes into your brain also comes out in your behaviors, positive or negative. That’s the benefit of living a high-level Longevity Lifestyle, Healthier and more functional behaviors result in a healthier and more functional life. That doesn’t mean sad things and accidents do not occur. Many undesirable things can be prevented and what could not be prevented can be dealt with more effectively and successfully, especially if you have high Emotional Intelligence.
