Q. I’ve heard you say that no two brains are alike. Is this just your opinion? I mean it’s obvious that identical twins have brains that are alike.

A. It is definitely my brain’s opinion, which rests on reports from multiple research projects such as the one at done through Yale University in 2016. Their conclusion, as other researchers have reported, is that no two brains are identical. Even earlier, scientists at the University of Western Ontario in 2011 reported that genetic studies showed that identical twins “are not genetically identical.” After birth, epigenetics (lifestyle choices) kicks in along with interactions with others. There are never absolutely identical, so brains actually become more different and unique as they age. Studies on animal brains suggest this is also true for them. Spider brains may be unique  as well. Reportedly, no two spider’s webs are identical.
