“You, too, can realize a world of difference”

Just want to thank you for your outstanding presentation yesterday to the Leadership Institute here at Howard Memorial Hospital.  We learned so many concepts and so much information from The Brain Program – all of which are critical to professional growth and getting along with others. Thanks again.

We wanted to say thank you so much for coming to do the recent weekend seminar here in Hanford. Your information is timely, needed, and appreciated. Your spitfire delivery is memorable, entertaining, and endearing. Alice most appreciated your information about needing to make positive statements instead of negative ones like “don’t.” That will help tremendously in raising her three girls. Michael and Anita most remember your talk about “Statements we make to ourselves.” You are welcome back here anytime.

I want to express my deep gratitude for your participation. It was thought-provoking; you had the attendees at the edge of their seats. The concepts shared continued to be repeated and discussed by many during the rest of the day. It was fun observing the dynamics and the laughter generated as a result of the various nuggets from your lectures. Again, thank you for your participation.

Thank you for coming to St. Barnabas Episcopal School and sharing your knowledge regarding brain function. It was educational, energizing, and exciting. Your delivery was superb in every way, injected with humor, spirituality, and love! We were all very impressed. Even one of the teachers who, initially wasn’t looking forward to the presentation, came, stayed, and reported not only loving it but also having learned a great deal. Our school will continue to use your web site, order your resources, and learn more and more about brain function and how it relates so relevantly to the educational setting. I look forward to possibly seeing you again in the near future.

Thanks so much for your insights during The Brain Program I attended this past Saturday. I actually team-teach a class in which we use the MBTI and other inventories (SDI, LBA II, and FIRO-B) and found your work with the BTSA not only terribly compelling, but a great enhancement to address some gaps in these other instruments. Continued thanks to you and for the light you bring into so many lives!

A big thank you for sharing brain-function information with our pastoral families! I’ve heard so many positive comments and many of your “catch phrases” being repeated in numerous circles. It was a thrill to have you share your relevant knowledge with my team!

I have to tell you that your presentation Downshifting—a Natural Brain Phenomenon was by far, the best one I’ve seen at the MCA. It was intelligent, stimulating, and high caliber. You had every single person in the room completely engaged – even those who sat still in their chairs! Thank you so much for your time and energy.

Thank you for giving my husband and me the opportunity to attend The Brain Program seminar. We both found it fascinating and thought-provoking. We did just as you said and took no immediate action after our weekend with you. We have both through a lot about what we have learned and are beginning to discuss how to apply our new perspective to both our professional and personal lives. It was, without a doubt, one of the most worthwhile weekends we have had in a long, long time.

It is obvious that you have designed your life around your innate giftedness and that you are not only extremely good at what you do, but that you genuinely enjoy sharing your expertise with others. Thanks for the inspiration!

I want to express my personal thanks for contributing your time last evening to the North Bay Coaches. You opened up an exciting new avenue of information that I believe will serve the coaches on a personal level as well as for our clients. From the comments made during and after your presentation, my colleagues found your presentation of the information very valuable, and you stimulated their desire to learn more about brain functioning. When I accepted a new position as Corporate Director for Health Information Management (HIM) for 21 hospitals, one of my main goals became leadership development for the HIM Directors. Initially I scheduled 3-day meetings twice a year, with one day earmarked for leadership development. I invited Arlene Taylor to speak at the first session. Previously I had attended her seminar, The Brain Program (how to identify and manage your brain's energy advantage effectively) and found the information so helpful that I had arranged for my children, my brother and his wife, and my parents to attend as well.

After hearing Arlene’s presentation, feedback from the Directors was so positive that we invited her to speak at each of the subsequent sessions. Topics included The Brain Program (in which each Director completed a BTSA and received a personalized brain-function profile), Male-Female Differences, The Power of Affirmation, Cellular Memory, The Brain and Laughter, Brain-Body Communication, and so on. The HIM Directors began to practically apply the information, even constructing work-teams so as to include representation from a variety of brain types and sensory preferences in order to achieve better outcomes. And they reported benefits in their personal as well as professional lives. It was a win-win!

Ten years ago my best friend died in a horrible mountain biking accident. On my return home I received an amazing gift, the value of which I didn't immediately recognize. That gift was an introduction to Dr. Arlene Taylor, a world-class speaker and brain-function specialist. Since then, many of my friends and family members have attended The Brain Program and in varying degrees the information she presented has helped each person to “feel comfortable in our own shoes."

I have found her work to impact so positively on people around me that I have hosted her seminars several times. Recently our entire office staff attended The Brain Program and benefited greatly from the information. By knowing more about the activities that each person’s brain does energy efficiently, we have been able to develop an energized and enthusiastic work team. We are also using what we learned to help plan the company’s future organizational chart. One of the greatest gifts anyone can give is the gift of acceptance. Arlene's presentations have helped us to better understand and accept ourselves and those around us, personally and professionally. This seems to be a gift that keeps on giving.

I thoroughly enjoyed attending The Brain Program presented by Dr. Arlene Taylor. As the seminar progressed, each section provided information that made such good sense. By the end of the day I was overwhelmed with everything I'd heard and "learned." I was especially surprised to discover that I innately am "frontal right," because so many of my actions have used functions from the basal modes. Now I find myself cocking my head on occasion, like I am listening to my inner voice, replaying all that I have learned, chunking it into more manageable pieces, the "a-ha’s" resounding inside.

I am reading the syllabus in order to be able to really process and practically apply this brain-function information. I find there is such a big difference between "awareness and action." Sometimes I am in a hurry to get to the action but stuck in the awareness. Taking the first step, albeit infinitesimal, can be so difficult! The Brain Program was a powerful presentation adding several jigsaw pieces to my puzzle. I will continue working until the pieces fit together easily, and I can accept who I am, comfortably, without the myriad "shoulds" and self-criticisms that heretofore have been my constant companions.

We were privileged to have Dr Arlene Taylor speak at the 2003 Christian Women's Retreat in Sydney, Australia. She came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. The women who attended the weekend retreat loved her presentations and were very much drawn to her as a person. In addition to presenting four general sessions, Taylor made herself available on a one-on-one basis and women's lives were changed through those discussions.

Taylor generously allowed us to record her presentations and we have sold more audios of her lectures than from any previous retreat. Just this past week I had a request for a copy of yet another set! Arlene still lives on in our part of the world (down under) through the memory of her warmth, humour, and the quality and well-researched content of her presentations. Attendees still talk about that special weekend and the positive impact it made on their lives.

Arlene Taylor is a winner! She has spoken at several Women's Ministries events in Kansas-Nebraska and is a class act. She's articulate and very thought provoking. Her presentations pack a real punch with stories and humor. Arlene dresses attractively and makes her audience feel comfortable (as well as herself) when she slips off her shoes while presenting!

I've been meaning to E-mail you for months. So now I'm doing it. I cannot tell you what a difference your Women's weekend retreat [Gulf States Conference] did for me and my family. I took what you said and applied it. It is so powerful! I now do everything I can to express myself with positive messages.

My children are being empowered. Even my 6-year-old son is on the band wagon. He can repeat the "tell your children to keep their hand away from the stove" story like an old pro. When the students say "I'm bad" I correct them and have them repeat, "I made a mistake; I can learn from it." I'm even on a crusade to eliminate pejoratives from the Academy.

Our lives have really turned around. You also profiled both my husband and me with the BTSA. That, too, has made a difference. My husband, as teacher, allows himself to get out of frontal left/basal left and puts himself in his "right" brain." His teaching is so much more effective. The self-discovery is so freeing. We can now can say to each other, "You're working in your left brain, of course you're tired and grumpy.

I'm completing my Marriage and Family Therapy Master's degree. My passion is to empower students to understand how they "think" and encourage them to pursue who they really are! I believe God led you to us so that we can live our lives as we were intended to do.

On February 8 and 9, many people were audience for two powerful presentations by Dr. Arlene Taylor. She told the audience that she doesn't often travel to snowy climates in winter to speak, but because of the hard work and dedication of Kathy Pflugrad and Kim Suckert she made an exception. Thank you!

Saturday afternoon the topic was Your Brain/Body Communication, What You Don't Know Can Kill You! Dr. Taylor stated that everything we do, think, or say is a health-relevant behavior. It impacts our brain/body communication toward health or toward the opposite state. It effects our level of success, our state of wellness, and our potential longevity.

The presentation on Sunday, Understanding Male/Female Differences, was attended by people of all ages and influenced everyone who was there! Even the young people in the audience were listening and participating in the discussion. "Both males and females have the choice to take appropriate action and exhibit positive behaviors in any specific situation," Dr. Taylor said. "Understanding gender differences doesn't remove them; it can empower us to identify options and make collaborative choices that honor differences without either taking them personally or allowing them to interfere with achieving positive outcomes." We can use this knowledge everyday to enhance all our relationships.

Dr. Arlene Taylor plans to return to Petoskey to present The Brain Program. This program has the potential to be life changing. Plan now to attend!

I am enjoying applying the principles you shared in your seminar. I am having so much fun finding ways to say things positively. Here are a couple of stories:

When I have to give a test that takes more than one sheet of paper front and back, I try to make an answer sheet. That way I can use the test over again and only have to copy a one-page answer sheet, since I am limited to the number of copies I can make each month. Every time I do this I always have 6-8 children write on the test. This last week when I handed out a test and answer sheet I told the children to write their answers on the answer sheet only. I asked them, “Where are you going to write your answers?” and had them repeat twice, “I will write my answers on the answer sheet.” Never once did I mention, “Don’t write on the test.” Every student wrote on the answer sheet only. There was not one mark on any of my tests!

The other day when a couple of children asked at the end of the day if they could erase the board I told them, “Yes, but don’t erase the list.” Well, guess what they did? They erased the list! But instead of thinking what’s wrong with these kids that they never listen, I had to smile to myself about the way in which I had given them instructions. Later in the week when I was asked the same question I replied, “Yes, and leave the list on the board.” It was still there when I needed it!

Even when I am less than successful my understanding helps me put things in perspective and make a plan to do better next time. Thank you so much. I know what you have shared is and will continue to have a major impact on my life!

P.S. I listened to a couple of your original stories as I cleaned my garage last weekend. The stories are wonderful! I caught myself seeing both Croak-In and Bragedy-On in my mind’s eye as I interacted with people all week. What a wonderful message they both had!

Recently we received approval to send employees from our entire region to a seminar that the NorthWest Region managers and myself have already attended. Speaking personally, I can unequivocally say this seminar by Arlene Taylor, The Brain Program, has made significantly more difference in both my professional and personal life than any other single seminar I've ever attended. Yes, that is a bold statement. However, I am not making it to merely “sell” the seminar. It is indeed true and I am very happy to be able to have this opportunity extended to a larger audience.

Thank you so much for your excellent presentation at our Teachers' Convention in the Georgia-Cumberland Conference. We received many positive reviews and you helped to make our Teachers' Convention a success. Specific things mentioned were the practicality of what you shared as you took data and applied it to actual situations that were helpful for our teachers. One of the comments we heard over and over was that even our secondary teachers enjoyed your content. It would be most difficult to find someone that will be as big a hit as you were for our next convention. Thanks for bringing something of value to our teachers.

It's funny sometimes how things that you learn take a little while to kick in. I have always been against seminars, I feel that in most cases the people that go consider the act of “going” to be the same as “doing” A certain culture of seminar junkies exists that I feel is ultimately unhealthy. A false sense of enlightenment takes place that, when it naturally fades, can leave them worse off than before. Okay, that's my diatribe on seminars, which leads me to praising yours.

While participating in The Brain Program, I had a sense of muted discovery. I had been sensing most of my life that the course that I had been pursuing was not a good fit and that feeling had been intensifying lately. I realized that I had to make some changes if I was to lead a happy productive life and achieve the level of success that I knew I was both capable of and responsible for achieving. So, as a delayed but direct result of your work, I have made some changes that have had a remarkable affect on me and on the lives of my family members. To quote the Grateful Dead, “what a long strange trip it's been.” Thanks for your work and I wish you the best.

Ben Folger, Off the Map Productions

Thank you for The Brain Program. As we spoke on the way home we realized we would never be the same again. We are not exactly sure what we will be, but we now have the tools that we can use to begin to change. Only time will tell where we will end up. The most valuable gift you gave us was an exhibit of a person working efficiently out of the proper area of the brain. We watched you plow through many hours of intense lectures, but instead of showing signs of exhaustion you only became more effective, more energized, and more eloquent as the hours wore on. We will remember that picture even more than we remember your words.

You have some fans here on this planet! I recently purchased an audio set of your original animal allegories (Legends of the Wild) at the hospital gift shop. Since we don't currently have a tape player in the house, we listened to some of your stories in the car on the way to Healdsburg. They are incredibly lovely! Even my husband was enthralled!

Since that trip, I have found myself needing to take several trips in the car, either to the grocery store, to the hardware store, or back again for more groceries. Each time I find that little Michael (age five) is eager to accompany me. We listen to your stories on the way and, upon completion of each trip, often find ourselves sitting in the car until the end of a story. This afternoon, I came upon Michael, happily installed on the couch with a Walkman he had borrowed from Jamie, my eldest child. I had no doubt as to the contents of the tape machine to which he was listening with such rapt attention. He's your #1 fan!

I have known Arlene Taylor for many years now as a fellow pilgrim for justice and making the world safe for differences. But I had never gone through one of her much-touted brain seminars. So, at her invitation, I went.

As a typical academic, stuffed with my own ego of how much I already knew, I did not have high expectations that I would learn much of value. I was in for a real surprise! From the opening bell of round one, Arlene had me by my frontal lobes, and for three days she did not let go . . . nor did I want her to let go . . . until I understood just who Caleb Rosado is, and the wonderful way God has created me to be.

When I couple this learning experience with my own field of knowledge as a sociologist, an educator, and a human systems consultant, it gave me a far richer understanding of my world and the many people in it, than I have ever experienced, except on one other occasion. My experience went from eating crow at the beginning, topped off with a piece of humble pie, to a sumptuous banquet of rich brain food and the delectable delight of self-awareness. Needless to say, I am already recommending Dr. Arlene Taylor's seminar to anyone who desires a natural high and a genuine mind expanding experience.

The Brain Program had an immediate and powerful impact upon my life. I had practiced Homeopathic medicine and psychotherapy in Palos Verdes, California for the past ten years. The information that Dr. Taylor so magically teaches in two whirlwind days, regarding innate brain giftedness, provides you with awareness as well as tools for changing your life.

If it’s a better life you need, it will be improved by the seminar. If you have a great life, the seminar will improve that, also. I am now viewing my family and friends in a more evolved and peaceful light. Arlene has identified and unleashed another of my passions in my search for the truth of my life. Thanks and praise for her accomplishments that have allowed her to design and present the most unique seminar I have ever attended.

Thank you for presenting such a wonderful seminar, The Brain Program. Through this information, I have learned that I have a right frontal lead and that I am a high introvert with visual preference. I must say that I have been tempted to greet people with the very sentence, "Hello, I’m Wendy, I’m a right frontal, high introvert and visual." I am so excited to find out this information about myself. Now I have permission to be me. The information has helped me to embark on an exciting journey of self-discovery. I feel as if a weight has been lifted.

The information has also helped in assisting with patient care, especially with compliance issues and explanation of information in the individual patient’s sensory preference. There are still some aspects of the practice of medicine that I do not like, but now it is more manageable and can be sandwiched with aspects that are consistent with my brain lead. Thank you for such a wonderful weekend. I certainly will pass along this information!

Wendy S. Perrott, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., Florida

The Brain Program was an awesome seminar. Really turned my crank. It provided keys to making choices that bring joy and health to life instead of getting pushed into doing things because of expectations of what others value. I would attend again in a heartbeat!

Betsy and I are still overflowing with enthusiasm because of your seminar, The Brain Program. I don't know how many people we've talked to since we attended who have had to listen while we describe one of the greatest experiences we've ever had. Thank you for unlocking so much for us. We have a new, energetic "Sense of Spirit"! Actually, I've been considering the advantages of a repeat weekend!

Thank you so much for our weekend at The Brain Program. It was so informative yet presented in a way so as to be really delightful. Like many before me it has cleared some fog and given me direction. I have dabbled in public speaking for many years and I know why your sessions were perky and endearing. You had great spacing and timing in your many capsules of topics. Excellent pace, too.

One thing I haven't noticed in training books is what I call giving a piece of yourself in presentations. You really warmed the whole weekend up by doing that. When you present yourself as human, even vulnerable, you talk to us and our heart, not at us. A book on tape I listened to entitled, Change Your Mind and Change Your Life, talked about integrating love into your business, whatever it is, for smoothness and success. You do that! Thanks, too, for the couples analysis. We'll be back....

I am so surprised and pleased with the response from the pastoral families who attended your seminar, The Brain Program. Nothing but positive comments have been heard from all who attended. I have seen nothing that offers pastors more understanding of themselves than what they receive in your seminar. In addition, they are given an abundance of information that will be of great help to them in understanding their members.

Kenneth Coonley, President, Carolina Conference

Some years ago I heard about Arlene Taylor and her lectures on brain function and thinking styles. I was naturally curious, albeit somewhat skeptical. More recently I became involved with these concepts when my two sons completed the BTSA (Benziger Thinking Styles Assessment) in their search for personal understanding and educational direction. As a result, I believe that Jon and Peter have a better sense of who they are and of their innate capabilities.

When my wife and I enrolled in The Brain Program, completed the BTSA, listened to Arlene, and then interacted with each other and with friends who were there, we realized in a new way that there were reasons behind our personalities and abilities. We found in these concepts a great tool to expand thinking, to foster understanding, and to allow for acceptance.

Taylor’s presentation (Gender Graphics—Male/Female Differences) provides a significant body of knowledge on brain physiology and development as well as how these components interact with an individual’s environment.

While sitting in on several of Dr. Taylor’s seminars, I have noticed how her listeners always give rapt attention, eagerly absorbing what she is presenting. She has a way of making complicated matters understandable and even dynamically interesting. She gives abundant food for thought and life-changing insights.

Like others, I am always trying to improve myself. I am thankful that through attending one of Dr. Taylor's seminars, The Brain Program, a path opened to a rich motherlode of effective, practical, and scientifically-based treasures on how to live: whole-person-wise, optimally, with yourself and your milieu. These stimulating, always-current tapes, videos, assessments, and workshops by a creative, gifted, qualified, experienced Dr. Arlene Taylor should help so many in so many areas most of the time, if not all of the time. Such a discovery should not be mine alone, but mined and worked by all in the quest for bettering themselves.

I have personally observed the transformation of a young man’s life following the BTSA assessment given by Arlene Taylor. Five years after graduation from high school, searching for direction in his life, this young man decided to begin college. The BTSA results, prior to college registration, gave him the insight and direction he needed to know how to succeed.

Thank you for coming to be with us for the program on October 27. This is the 11th Annual Clergy Conference that we have had since I returned to CTMC in ’95, and this was by far the best (and we have had some very good ones). We have heard such wonderful comments about your teaching, and you left people wanting more.

I am talking with our CEO about getting you scheduled to come and do one of our quarterly retreats for the leadership of our institution. So much of your material is important in creating understanding and more effective communication. I believe it will help to create the kind of working environment that we are seeking to put into place.

Arlene Taylor’s two-day presentation to Union College administration and faculty was the first August colloquium that I didn’t want to end. Her cutting edge information on the brain, memorable stories, and engaging delivery fueled my energy for teaching throughout the rest of the year.

Dr. Taylor is a master teacher with a passion for honoring diversity in all its forms. Add to that the spiritual dimension appreciated on our Christian campus and what resulted was a powerful seminar that changed me as much as it challenged me.

If I could see her today, I’d have only one question: When are you coming back?
