Whole Brain Nurturing

SEMINAR DESCRIPTION

The term Sensory Preference refers to the type of sensory stimuli that registers most quickly within one's brain. Unless we are challenged in one of the sensory systems, we have the ability to use all three and can process data that comes to us in all three methods (visual, auditory, kinesthetic). In general, however, we tend to gravitate toward environments where we are comfortable¾environments that acknowledge and reward our sensory preference.

This seminar in designed to describe the sensory systems and differences related to preference. The consequences of misunderstanding one's sensory preference and the impact to all our relationships are discussed. Tips for nurturing others in their sensory preference are explored. Individuals are challenged to identify and honor their own sensory preference as well as that of close family and friends. A Sensory Preference Assessment is included.

TIME FRAME

60 - 90 minutes in two sessions.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Individuals who want to improve all their relationships by understanding and using the three sensory systems effectively.

SEMINAR OBJECTIVES

At the end of the seminar, participants should be able to:

  • List the three main sensory systems
  • Identify their own sensory preference
  • State two benefits to relationships that can accrue from understanding our own sensory preference and that of others
  • Describe how to achieve whole brain nurturing
