Organizing Your Workplace with Your Brain In Mind
When I first met Arlene, I was a right-brained frontal (innately) but living a left-brained life. “Ouch!” Even several years later it is painful to write that! Talk about energy drain!
Three years ago I attended The Brain Program that was held in the Napa Valley of Northern California, and my life situation has improved dramatically since then. In the two years preceding my Brain-Program attendance, I had dealt with deciding to end a troubled marriage, starting a consulting business, managing two "learning-disabled" children, buying and selling a house, and numerous financial, emotional, and psychological struggles. Attending The Brain Program was like receiving a new beginning to my life. I finally understood contributors to my having felt so out of place in life and why life seemed so difficult for me. I was living someone else’s life! Specifically, the life my mother thought I should live.
I don’t even remember how I found Arlene Taylor. Suffice it to say that divine intervention allowed me to stumble across her web site and she graciously and encouragingly allowed me to attend The Brain Program. She became my role model, inspiration, and mentor.
Formerly a misfit in the career of dental hygiene, I now enjoy my career as a Professional Organizer. I focus on consulting with businesses and corporations and absolutely love finding creative ways to make people more efficient through setting up processes and systems that work with their innate brain function. My training programs ALL include use of Taylor’s Sensory Preference Assessment [PDF]. It is truly amazing how understanding this concept can improve communication, productivity, and efficiency.
My public-speaking calendar now is as full as I need it to be. I have a secure, part-time consulting arrangement with a group of Franchise Owners of Ameriprise Financial in Farmington Hills, located just one mile from my home. The work is satisfying and challenging. The rest of my time is filled with mothering two teenagers and managing my consulting business. My investment in The Brain Program and sales training in the Sandler Selling System have allowed me to close more business, charge a higher fee, and take my business to the next level. I never would have been this successful without Arlene’s guidance and her brain-function information.
On a personal note, I'm engaged to be married on September 29 [2007]. This wonderful man is a numbers guy (MBA, CPA, and Financial Consultant) and a fellow University-of-Michigan alumnus. We are a good balance. He is visual (although I am even more visual). He enjoys my creative, outside-the-box thinking; and I enjoy his routine, methodical way of working budgets, financial analysis, and investments. The best part is that we make a great team, each doing what each is good at. When we disagree, we realize this simply means that our brains perceive things differently, and we understand how non-productive it is to become upset. Thanks to The Brain Program, my personal and professional lives are completely renewed!
