Brain References

The Brain References section of this website began in response to requests for more references related to the brain and its functions. This resource is designed to facilitate additional study. It also allows my seminar materials to be uncluttered with footnotes since the information can be accessed readily on my website. I encourage you to go directly to the reference cited in order to review the information as presented by the author(s) in context.

Please note that these Brain References, along with other resources on this website, are intended to be informational. They are not intended to take the place of professional counseling or medical or psychological care. Realizations Inc does not take, and expressly disclaims, any responsibility for any adverse effects arising from the use of or improper application of concepts presented herein. These references are, of course, ones with which I am acquainted. Feel free to suggest additional resources.

When reviewing Brain References, keep in mind that many researched conclusions are presented in the form of generalizations. They typically are considered clearly applicable to about two-thirds of the population (Bell Curve of Distribution). Of the remaining third of the population, the conclusions will apply even more strongly to about half of them, and less strongly to the remaining sixth of the population. This does not invalidate the research. It does exemplify individual uniqueness. There are always exceptions based on individuality. In fact, average differences may not reveal anything about a specific person. Nevertheless, researched conclusions are a good place to begin. Use the information to help you better understand yourself and others.

Undoubtedly there are as many ways in which to group the topics within the fifteen Brain References Categories as there is information. Of necessity, and to avoid duplication, the Categories are somewhat arbitrary. If you are looking for a specific topic, check the Introduction for each Category as it will contain a list of topics that have been grouped into that Category.
