Q. Please explain a bit more about Benziger’s Working Model of Brain Function and the BTSA that you use in The Brain Program.

A. Benziger’s Working Model of Brain Function is based on a physiological update to the work of C. G. Jung. In its present form, the model represents the synthesis of work by Dr. Katherine Benziger of Texas, Dr. Karl Pribram (formerly) of Stanford University, Dr. Hans Eysenck of London, Dr. Richard Haier of San Diego, and others. The Benziger Thinking Styles Assessment (BTSA) grew out of the working model of brain function. It was designed to assist individuals in identifying key components of Jung’s therapeutic approach, and provides the missing link between one’s neurochemistry and social environment. Feedback information is presented in a twenty-page personalized profile. The knowledge gained can help individuals to manage their energy expenditure more effectively, increase their general effectiveness, enhance their collaborative life-management skills, enhance all their relationships, and improve their overall well-being through enhanced self-awareness.

The BTSA uses value-free labels, thus making it easier for individuals to view all four different cerebral thinking styles as of equal value. The BTSA also holds promise as a method to enable organizations to create whole-brained teams with enhanced potential for collaboration and sufficient diversity to solve problems effectively and to accomplish group objectives. It can potentially enable treatment programs to structure their therapeutic modalities in a way that not only can predict probable individual successes, but can also assist participants in achieving desired outcomes on a consistent basis over time.

There are many other assessments available in today’s world. However, because the BTSA scores for adaption, it’s the only one I use.
